Necklace made with Black Obsidian stones on their raw form.

Color:  Black, grayish black, silver-black, snow flaked

Etymology: It comes from the Latin “Obsius” a character from Ancient Rome who was the first one to discover it.

The Obsidian symbolizes:  Protection.

Physical Well-being

It is an excellent anti-pain.

LEGEND

The symbolism of this stone is linked to the fire stone.  It is believed to have the power of warding off evil spells and chasing away evil spirits.  There was a time when the Obsidian also had a mortuary meaning.

The Egyptians used their sharp fragments to incise the corpses during their embalming.

The Aztecs, who fabricated magic mirrors, covered the wounds with a balsam based on Obsidian powder.  The stone had not only the power of opening human flesh but it could also close it.
